Make Money on Pokerstars Without Spending on Buy-ins: Ways to Play Freeroll Poker

How to play freeroll online poker without spending money on Pokerstars. Tips for making money with online poker with no buy-in or cash.

Pokerstars is one of the most popular poker softwares for online poker, and generates over $1 million per day. Inexperienced poker players can easily waste away hundreds of dollars in their first days of playing online poker because they do not realize how much competition there is on the internet.

However, there are safer ways of playing online poker on Pokerstars while still having the chance to earn money:

Freeroll Tournaments

Everyday there are tournaments which allow you to compete to make hundreds of dollars, without buying in. This doesn’t come easy, because most of these tournaments consist of two or three rounds. The first round is the qualifying round in which a certain number of top finishing players earn a ticket to progress to a second round, and so on until the final round where the winner takes the prize. Some tournaments will give a prize to the top 100 players of the final round. In some of these tournaments, the first round will usually accept a set number of players. For example, in NAPL Freeroll there are less than 40 people playing in a game. The winners of the first round will be allowed to enter any second round they choose, because they are available every day.

Other freeroll tournaments do not have qualifying rounds that give the winner a ticket to the next round. These tournaments are held less frequently at certain hours of the day, and provide more money to the winner because there are much more seats available. The daily $90,000 tournament, for example, is held once a day and can have as many as 40,000 players competing for the prize.

Poker School

Freeroll tournaments are usually very popular and allow a very small chance for one person to win. Poker School is an option for those who really want to make money, but don’t mind making small amounts. If you already have the Pokerstars software, you will see an option at the top of the screen called “Poker School”. This is only visible after you log in. If you take the classes it is possible to make money without paying for a buy-in. Once you pass the classes, you can play in the PSO Skill League tournaments listed the Private section. These tournaments occur several times each day, and have less participants than the other freeroll tournaments.

Many people would rather spend money on cash games because freeroll tournaments are so packed that there is very little chance of beating all opponents to the top. You will see that in many of these tournaments, some players just go all in on their first hand to get the game moving faster. To make it to the prize, you need plenty of patience and skill.
